Annotation:
Cassius Marcellus Coolidge is best known for his paintings collectively known as Dogs Playing Poker.

Dialog:

Panel 1:
Joules: How that you're expressing an interest in art, we have something else we can do together.
Joel: Not all art...

Panel 2:
Joules: You're saying you only like Kandinsky?
Joel: Of what I've seen? Yes.

Panel 3:
Joules: What about Malevich?
Joel: Nope.
Joules: Mondrian?
Joel: No.
Joules: Braque?
Joel: Eh.
Joules: Matisse?
Joel: Nuh uh.

Panel 4:
Joules: Well, this is disappointing.
Joel: Look. I've never gotten anything out of art before. You should be happy I like Kandinsky and not C. M. Coolidge.

All good things must come to an end. And so must the mediocre, and the downright bad. Where Home Run falls within this continuum, I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that my creative interests are no longer in just drawing comics. As such, I am ending Home Run and that other infrequently updating comic that shares this site, Topical Salve, where they stand. I hope you have enjoyed the ride. I certainly did.

This is not to say that I am packing it in and riding out of town. Instead, I am relocating and reinventing. If you're interested, point your browser here. The name may be familiar, but the content is all new. Plus, since I'm using actual blogging software over there, I have added flexibility to accomodate my ever-changing creative outlets.

And who knows? Joel, Toby, Walt, Joules, and the rest of the gang might show up there every once in a while. Berkeley Breathed couldn't retire his characters. I see no reason why I should.
